Meet the Bake Girls

In 2018 Christina Bjorn, owner of Not Your Nana’s Bakery met Tasha Taylor, owner of SugarHi Sweet Eats and Treats at a cupcake competition in Atlanta GA. Their culinary chemistry was obvious from the start and together they formed the baking dynamic duo, Bake Girl Magic!

To fully understand what “Bake Girl Magic” is all about, we must honor the movement that is “Black Girl Magic.” Created by CaShawn Thompson, the concept was born as a way to "celebrate the beauty, power and resilience of black women", as described by Julee Wilson from HuffPost, and to congratulate black women on their accomplishments. As two black female entrepreneurs striving to set an outstanding example of what sisterhood, strength and hard work can do in sweets industry; Tasha and Christina have coined the moniker to identify their amazing partnership.

Christina and Tasha create custom cakes and confections for occasions such as weddings, birthdays and corporate events that offer unique flavor pairings and delicious dessert collaborations.

They travel and compete in contests all over the country and have won various regional and national baking competitions including, Black Restaurant Week’s Best in Show, America’s Best Baker Atlanta Cupcake Queen and America’s Best Home Baker National competition, Ultimate Sugar Show Sculpted Cake, Sugar Art and Great Southern Bake Off.

Most recently, Christina and Tasha won Netflix’s holiday baking competition, Sugar Rush Christmas. They have been featured in several media outlets and publications such as the Atlanta Journal Constitution, VoyageATL, Fox 5’s Good Day Atlanta and MyTime Magazine.
